About the event
New Date!
This workshop, led by artist and arts administrator Jenna Didier, is a crash course on getting from project approval to 100% project completion from an administrative lens! This 2 hour workshop will give you the steps to follow when structuring public art projects and presentations, leave you with a general understanding of project budgeting, timeline management, how to put realistic milestones in place that might save your ass! You'll leave with useful templates and learn a few things NOT to do!
Jenna Didier is an artist whose site-driven practice promotes stewardship of ecologies within cities and on public lands. Via community collaborations, she promotes inclusivity, foregrounding intersectional voices and visions in public space. Her regenerative large-scale permanent public art works inhabit various sites around California, and her home state of Minnesota. Her work has been supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation, The Durfee Foundation, The Getty Museum, The Graham Foundation, LA County Museum of Art, the LA County Department of Arts and Culture, the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, The San Francisco Arts Commission, the EPA and the NEA. She owes her success in managing large scale projects and leading teams to create multi-component large-scale permanent projects to working as a project manager in the architectural scenery industry for Disney Japan and Universal Studios. As an extension of her social practice and ongoing experimentation with materials, she founded the nonprofit organization Materials & Applications (M&A). She currently serves as the Executive Director of LA River Arts.
